V.SUN products are unique in terms of their formulation, which is based on the latest scientific findings. They do not contain any critical UV filters that have a negative effect on coral growth. Substances such as octocrylene, nanoparticles and synthetic polymers are not used. Thanks to the balanced UVA and UVB protection, the skin is protected against sunburn and skin ageing. Our products make the skin feel particularly pleasant. Many people find it unpleasant to apply sun cream that leaves a white and/or sticky film afterwards. We want to change this with the V.SUN products, which feel particularly smooth on the skin thanks to nourishing oils and shea butter. The beautiful design is also an absolute eye-catcher. All products are manufactured exclusively in Germany. We take care to keep transportation routes as short as possible so as not to burden our environment unnecessarily. The product packaging is also manufactured in Germany without exception. Made in Germany!

$accordion$ Are V.SUN products safe for the existence of coral reefs?

Yes, V.SUN products have been developed according to the latest scientific findings. We completely avoid microplastics, nanoparticles, octocrylene and other ingredients that have been criticized for being harmful to our oceans. Of course, we continuously monitor further scientific developments regarding non-critical ingredients so that our products are always up to date.

We pay great attention to selecting first-class ingredients in our V.SUN products.
Therefore, due to our consistent commitment to quality, we consciously avoid the use of plasticizers in all of our products (in particular no monohexyl phthalate and no dihexyl phthalate) in order to ensure the safety and harmlessness of our products for consumers.

$accordion$ How do I find the right sun protection factor (SPF) for my skin type?

The sun protection factor always depends on the skin type, the location and the time when the skin is exposed to the sun. We have made the following recommendations for different skin types:

Skin type 1 - "very fair skin": here we recommend a high sun protection factor (SPF 50).
Skin type 2 - "light to medium skin": here we recommend a medium sun protection factor (SPF 30).
Skin type 3 - "dark to very dark skin": here we recommend a low sun protection factor (SPF 15), as sun protection is also relevant for very dark skin. Here it is particularly important to protect the less pigmented areas of skin.

$accordion$ Do the V.SUN products also protect me from infrared rays?

Yes, they do. Infrared rays can penetrate very deeply into the layers of the skin, which can generate free radicals. Free radicals contribute to the ageing process of the skin. V.SUN products contain the natural substance ectoine, which is an innovative cell protection agent and can therefore effectively protect against the free radicals generated by infrared radiation.

$accordion$ What does balanced UVA-UVB protection mean?

UVA and UVB are two different types of radiation. UVB rays can cause sunburn when they penetrate the upper layers of the skin. Although UVA rays hardly cause sunburn, they are responsible for accelerated skin ageing, for example. Balanced UVA and UVB protection therefore means that both types of radiation are covered and the skin is protected against both sunburn and accelerated skin ageing.

The body and face cream with sun protection factor 50 have a UVA protection value of 27. The face cream with sun protection factor 50 fragrance-free has a UVA protection value of 23. The body cream with sun protection factor 50 fragrance-free has a UVA protection value of 20. The body and face cream with sun protection factor 30 has a UVA protection value of 14. The body cream with sun protection factor 15 has a UVA protection value of 8.

$accordion$ Does the daily use of V.SUN products affect vitamin D absorption?

Vitamin D absorption is reduced, but not prevented. With the V.SUN products, care has been taken to develop balanced protection in which the composite filter system enables vitamin D absorption to be as high as if we were sitting in the shade.

$accordion$ How much sunscreen should I apply?

We recommend applying the products generously. The rule is: the more, the better. Of course, everyone should feel comfortable with the amount applied. That's why it was essential to us to develop a special texture that promotes a pleasant feeling on the skin. This makes moisturizing fun.

$accordion$ How often should I apply sunscreen?

To maintain the protective effect, you should apply cream regularly and repeatedly. In particular, you should reapply after sporting activities, bathing and drying off, as well as after increased perspiration. And the following applies: Avoid intense midday sun!

$accordion$ Do you have verifications for V.SUN products?

V.SUN is part of PETA's "Beauty Without Bunnie's Program" and is therefore also on the positive list at www.peta.org. Our V.SUN products are on the positive list.

$accordion$ Do the V.SUN products contain octocrylene?

No, octocrylene is not used in any V.SUN product.

$accordion$ Why have we made a conscious decision not to use octocrylene in V.SUN products?

According to the latest scientific findings, octocrylene has been criticized for harming the environment and especially water bodies. Why is that? Octocrylene is contained in many sun creams and is therefore inevitably released into the water by people who apply sun cream and then go swimming. It is assumed that octocrylene in particular harms corals as it cannot be broken down biologically or photolytically. It is also sticky and prevents the skin from "breathing", which is why many people are now sensitive to octocrylene. For these reasons, we wanted to avoid the use of such criticized ingredients in our V.SUN products.

$accordion$ Do the V.SUN products contain parabens or other similar additives?

No, V.SUN products do not contain parabens or other similar additives.

$accordion$ Do V.SUN products contain microplastics?

No, V.SUN products do not contain any microplastics or other synthetic polymers (plastics).

$accordion$ Why was titanium dioxide used? Isn't it dangerous?

This is not titanium dioxide, which is used in high doses as a mineral filter in natural cosmetic sun protection products. In general, these are also not nanoparticles. We do not use nanoparticles in any of our formulations.

$accordion$ Are V.SUN products also suitable for sensitive skin and children?

Yes, the V.SUN products are also suitable for sensitive skin, as a low-allergen formulation has been implemented and modern light protection filters have been used that cause minimal skin penetration. The skin can still breathe. The products also contain no silicones, mineral oils or synthetic polymers. However, allergy or asthma sufferers should always consult an expert before use.

V.SUN products are also suitable for children, but not specifically for babies. As babies and toddlers should generally not be exposed to direct sunlight, we do not recommend using V.SUN products here, but rather special baby and toddler products.

$accordion$ Are V.SUN products also suitable for people with sun allergies?

When developing V.SUN, we made sure that the products are also suitable for sensitive skin as far as possible. In corresponding skin tests, the potential for developing sun allergies when using V.SUN was assessed as low. However, sun allergy is a skin condition for which the use of products should ideally be discussed with a dermatologist.

Yes, all products are vegan and naturally cruelty-free. For this reason, V.SUN is also on the PETA positive list.

Yes, all sun protection products for the face and body with sun protection factors 30 and 50 are waterproof.

$accordion$ Is it safe to apply V.SUN products near the eyes?

Yes, they can. There is no danger in applying the products near the eyes and lips. However, direct contact with the eyes should be avoided.

$accordion$ Are the V.SUN Face products comedogenic?

No, the V.SUN Face products are non-comedogenic. This means that they do not cause blemishes.

$accordion$ How should V.SUN products be stored?

V.SUN products should be stored at 20 to 30 degrees. Care should also be taken not to leave the products in direct sunlight.

$accordion$ What is the shelf life of V.SUN products?

We guarantee the product quality for 12 months after the first opening.

$accordion$ Is there a risk that the V.SUN products will stain my clothes?

In general, V.SUN products should not cause discoloration - however, this cannot be completely ruled out, so it is best not to allow them to come into contact with clothing. If discoloration does occur, we recommend washing the clothing at 60 degrees to remove it.

$accordion$ Why should I use an after-sun lotion? Isn't a normal body lotion also sufficient?

The special feature of an after-sun lotion is that it focuses on moisturizing and, above all, soothing the skin. Sun-stressed skin needs cooling and special care, which the active ingredient portfolio of a normal body lotion cannot provide.

V.SUN products work immediately from the moment of application.

$accordion$ Are the V.SUN Face products suitable for people who have an oily and sebaceous skin texture?

In general, the UV filter in a sunscreen is always incorporated into the "oily" part of the cream/lotion. With V.SUN, we have therefore taken special care to select a particularly light oil component.

This makes V.SUN more suitable for oily and sebum-rich skin than most other sun creams. It also makes application more pleasant and less sticky.

$accordion$ Can V.SUN Face products also be used as a primer/make-up base under day care?

Yes, the V.SUN products can be used as a primer/make-up base. It is always important to follow the instructions for use when using the product, as it is primarily a cosmetic product that protects against sunburn and light-induced skin damage.

$accordion$ What is the difference between Face & Body Cream?

The difference lies in the formulation of both products: V.SUN Face Cream contains additional ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, which moisturizes the skin and strengthens the collagen and skin structure.
